Indian Judiciary System

The health of a democratic country is assessed by the judiciary system of the country.

If the judicial system of the country is strong then the country is healthy. If it is not strong, then the country is fighting with various diseases.

I am not an expert of law, but as a common citizen of a country, I can say that where the judiciary is weak, there is no place of law and order.

8 out of 10 countries with the best judiciary system in the world are from Europe.

And these are the 10 countries with the world's worst judiciary system

Indian ranked 79 out of 139 country on rull of law, which is not good at all.

"$5 trillion economy. bullet train, smart cities"etc. words are good to hear and speaks. but to be a healthy country, it must have a good primary health system, education system,   juridisary systems etc.

As of May 2022, over 4.7 crore cases are pending in courts across different levels of the judiciary. Of them, 87.4% are pending in subordinate courts, 12.4% in High Courts, while nearly 1,82,000 cases have been pending for over 30 years.

According justice V.V.Rao, this backlog may take 320 years to clear.

Now In order to clear the pending cases,  the trail should do quickly, but to deal with it the number of judges will have to be increased. I am very surprised to know that in India, there are only 17 judges against one million population while France have 124 judges, UK have 108 judges against 1 million population.

You will again surprised to know that Uttar Pradesh have higest pending cases which is about 53 Lakhs, then second number comes of Maharashtra which have 31.5 lakhs are pending. Even Gujarat is not also so behind but 22 lakhs cases are pending.

Now why India's court are struggling to find judges, is a matter of debate but as a common man, I only know that if the judiciary is the third pillar of our country's democracy, then we should make these pillars strong very soon.
