"I know your product cost" - Every Gujarati is a cost accountant
Gujaratis are very adept at calculating the product and service cost of any business. Especially of other's businesses.
Here I am talking about not only Gujarati speaking people but all people living in Gujarat, especially business community people like Sindhi, Gujarati, Marwaridi etc.
Whether these people are from commerce field or not, educated or illiterate, businessmen or professionals, but they can calculate costing of any product/Services. This skill is not only thier hobby but have been weaved in thier DNA.
Suppose Gujarati people when go to any tea stall for a cup of tea, they cannot keep quiet their hidden cost accountant sitting inside them. They look at the crowd drinking tea at the tea stall, and estimate how many cup of tea will be consumed daily. Then they do immediate reverse calculation of how much sugar, milk etc. require to make the tea and evaluate Gross Profit (GP) of the stall keeper.
This is not only about tea stalls but they can calculate GP of all business and professions wherever they go, like salons, hospital, garment shops, restaurant etc.
They can evaluate GP/NP of government agencies, trust like school, temples , hospitals etc also.
But this hobby make them master of raw material purchase in their business. Gujaratis are very expert in negotiation also, because they knew the cost of the product very well.
Here I want to share followings few characteristics of Gujaratis (All the business community people from Gujarat) which make them different from others.
1. No matter how big a position a Gujarati person holds in any company, they constantly thinks of quitting his job and starting his own business.
2. As soon as Gujarati's children turn 18, parents will make their PAN card first and income tax file with their chartered accountants.
3. If sometimes there is an accident of two cars on the road, women come from both the cars and will fight with each other but men sitting in the car will make few business call during that time.
4. Sequence of priorities in Gujarati family generally seen as bellow.
1. Capital reserve for business
2. Accounting & books keeping
3. Purchase of house property
4. Purchase of Cars
5. Gujarati boy or girl will never feel homesick if they go abroad to study or do business, but if they go to another state other than Gujarat within the country, they feel homesick.
A developed country is built with the contribution of different sectors and people related to it like education, agriculture, science, health etc. And the combination of development of different sectors creates a developed and prosperous country.
